Davis v. Footbridge Engineering Services, LLC and The Footbridge Companies, LLC

Shapiro Haber & Urmy LLP and its co-counsel brought a collective action under the federal overtime law, the Fair Labor Standards Act, to represent hourly employees who worked in the engineering and project control departments of Defendants Footbridge Engineering Services, LLC and The Footbridge Companies, LLC, and were not paid overtime for hours worked over 40 in any workweek.  Defendants contended that the employees were not subject to the overtime laws because the employees were exempt under the computer professional exemption.  The case settled for $208,500, and the money was divided on a pro rata basis among the 20 employees who joined the case.  Adam M. Stewart primarily handled the case for Shapiro Haber & Urmy LLP.
