Attorneys

Our attorneys understand that creative approaches often can resolve seemingly intractable lawsuits, and can create successful outcomes for our clients where more traditional approaches would not be effective. As a result, we have been at the forefront of successfully settling cases other firms would not touch, and succeeding in cases where other law firms have failed. For example, Shapiro Haber & Urmy LLP is one of the few law firms to have successfully settled actions on behalf of employees working as auto damage adjusters for various insurance companies across the country, and is one of only a handful of firms that has not been beaten by tobacco companies on procedural or other grounds during the course of the decades-long litigation arising from the fraudulent marketing of so-called "light" cigarettes. Our attorneys also have obtained settlements worth tens of millions of dollars in the securities field in areas, such as back-dated stock options and health care fraud, where other firms have failed to achieve success.

We are proud to report that all of the partners at Shapiro Haber & Urmy have been named 2022 Massachusetts Super Lawyers by Massachusetts Super Lawyers magazine.

Super Lawyers is an annual publication that evaluates lawyers on indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. No more than five percent of the lawyers in New England receive this recognition from their fellow attorneys. Super Lawyers Rising Stars are 40 years old or younger, or have been practicing law for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in New England receive this recognition.
