Employee Wage Lawyer and Overtime Lawyer - Action for Tips and Unpaid Wages Against Fast Food Chain Stores

Shapiro Haber & Urmy LLP settled a class action on behalf of  non-managerial employees who worked in the Defendants' fast food chain stores in Massachusetts and were forced to share their tips with managers and assistant managers. In addition, the employees were not paid for the time they spent counting the tips shared by the employees.  They were instead required to count the tips off the clock.  The action sought to recover both the tips that were paid to managerial employees and the unpaid wages for the time spent counting the tips.  The case was filed in the Massachusetts Superior Court Business Litigation Session for Suffolk County in Boston.  The case settled for approximately $550,000.  Ian McLoughlin and Adam Stewart worked on the prosecution of this action.
