Safety Tips For Consumers
Regarding Cookware Coated With
DuPont’s Teflon® Product
Consumers
concerned about the safety of
their Teflon® coated cookware
should take all of the following
precautions, if they continue to
use the cookware at all:

Never preheat a Teflon® coated cookware
item

Avoid using “high” heat on a Teflon®
coated cookware item

Never leave an empty Teflon® coated
cookware item on a heated
stovetop
-
Never use a scratched or damaged
Teflon® coated cookware item
-
Always use an oven or kitchen fan at
“high” when heating Teflon®
coated cookware
-
Always try to ventilate the kitchen
area when heating Teflon®
coated cookware
-
Never sear meat in a Teflon® coated pan
or Teflon® coated grill, as
grilling temperatures can
exceed 700 degrees
-
Never broil in
a Teflon® coated cookware
item, as broil temperatures
can exceed 1,000 degrees
-
Remove all pet birds from the kitchen or nearby areas
when heating Teflon® coated
cookware
