Improper and Excessive Fees for Bounced Checks
We Are Investigating Improper and Excessive Fees Charged For Bounced Checks
When someone writes a check that bounces due to insufficient funds, he is usually charged a fee by his bank. Sometimes, in addition to that fee, people are also charged a second fee by the store or other business which had been given the check.
We are investigating this practice of charging people two or more fees for writing a check that bounced. We believe that this practice may violate federal and state laws. We have filed a class action against a company called Re$ubmitIt. Re$ubmitIt collects these fees, supposedly for the businesses that received the bounced check, by taking the money directly out of the bank account of the person who wrote the check.

You may have a claim against the company that charged you that fee, or against a company like Re$ubmitIt that took the money out of your bank account.
